1. Liverpool put four past Manchester United

Liverpool host Manchester United in what is arguably the biggest game of the Premier League weekend. These teams aren’t close to each other in the league but a fierce rivalry will always exist between the two sides. This is one of these games that is not a derby by definition but has all the attributes and intensity of one.

Manchester United and Liverpool are two of England’s most successful clubs and until recently United had the upper hand on the Merseysiders. However, with Manchester United’s recent decline and Liverpool’s rise, the Liverpool fans are the only ones with anything to shout about.

United haven’t been great season but they’ve achieved something else that no other side in the Premier League has — they’ve taken points from Liverpool. Liverpool won’t mind dropping two points considering they’ve had the best start of any European side (in the top five leagues) ever.

Jurgen Klopp’s side may want to right this wrong though and ensure that they’ve beaten every team in the Premier League at least once this season. United have been unpredictable and uninspiring for the majority of this season but they got an important result on Wednesday night when they beat Wolves in their FA Cup replay.

This result was important as it gives Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side hope of lifting silverware this season — crucial for any Manchester United manager wanting to remain in their job. It’s hard to see United getting anything from this weekend’s game though considering how clinical Liverpool have been all season.

Klopp’s side are better from back to front. The only United players who could maybe make a claim to be in this Liverpool squad are David de Gea and Marcus Rashford. That suggests that Liverpool should win this comfortably but unfortunately for the Anfield faithful, soccer is an incredibly unpredictable game.

United will be up for this match and although it almost certainly won’t affect Liverpool’s run to the title, they would love to be the only side who haven’t lost to the champions-elect.

Solskjaer’s side won’t come close to that this weekend though as Liverpool demolishes them. Mane will bag a double with Salah and Henderson also scoring in a 4-0 rout of their bitter rivals.
