1. Add multiple wide receivers

Davante Adams is a legit No. 1 wide receiver, and he led the team in receptions (83), targets (127) and yards (997) by good margins across the board despite missing four entire games. The next-most productive wide receiver on the team was Allen Lazard (35 catches for 477 yards, three touchdowns).

Geronimo Allison and Marquez Valdes-Scantling aren’t cutting it as No. 2 wide receiver options, and Jake Kumerow is on the same plane as Lazard as a No. 3/No. 4 type more than anyone that is a threat worthy of taking defensive attention away from Adams.

The Packers don’t have the cap space to seriously pursue a top-end free agent wide receiver like Amari Cooper. But down that totem pole, to guys like Robby Anderson, Breshad Perriman, Emmanuel Sanders or even A.J. Green, there are options that should be in play along with anyone who might be cut or available via trade. A deep class of incoming rookie wide receivers is also going to be helpful for Green Bay to add a wide receiver at a lower cost.

Ideally, the Packers would sign a veteran wide receiver of some note in free agency and draft someone who can make a difference right away. In a win-now window as Rodgers advances in age, devoting resources toward depth and playmakers on offense will be critical to the success of the Packer’s 2020 offseason.
