WR. Dallas Cowboys. 1. player. Amari Cooper. 123. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Having to overspend on a marquee free agent is just the lot the Bills have in life. They’ll have to pay a gross premium to land star players away from state with no state income tax. To land Yannick Ngakoue away from the Jaguars, that’s what the Bills will need to do. If they want to land a star like Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper, then they need to back up the Brinks truck.

Cooper was the No. 4 overall pick by the then-Oakland Raiders in the 2015 NFL Draft out of the University of Alabama. He was traded mid-year in 2018 to Dallas for a first-round pick. Since Cooper was a former first-round pick, Dallas was able to have him play out the last year of his rookie deal on the fifth-year option. The Cowboys will want to bring him, back but can they?

Though Dallas has the fifth-most available cap space, just beneath the Bills at $81.9 million, the Cowboys have to figure out what they want to do about two other key free agents of theirs in quarterback Dak Prescott and cornerback Byron Jones, among others. Chances are all three won’t be returning to Dallas on second contracts, as all of whom are worthy of top-tier contracts.

Cooper isn’t a home-grown product. Since Dallas has a new head coach in Mike McCarthy, who was able to get a ton of production out of many receivers with the Green Bay Packers, maybe Cooper walks? As for the Bills, they need a No. 1 wide receiver to aid in Josh Allen’s continued growth. For a pretty penny, Buffalo can land its next Andre Reed in the three-time Pro Bowler.
