2020 NFL mock draft: Miami Dolphins trade up for Tua Tagovailoa
By Brad Weiss
The Indianapolis Colts got off to a fast start to the season, and many believed they would actually contend for a playoff spot. That would be an absolute miracle, considering they lost franchise quarterback Andrew Luck during the preseason, a move that shocked not only the fan base, but the organization as well.
Quarterback Jacoby Brissett played well in spurts for the team in 2019, but the organization was not ready to make a long-term commitment to him. In fact, this is a franchise that is in play for some of the bigger-name quarterback free agents out there in 2020, including guys like Philip Rivers and Tom Brady.
No matter who is under center for this team this season, they have to do a better job of adding weapons on the outside, and they do so at No. 13 overall with Henry Ruggs III. This is the fastest prospect in this draft class, and teamed with T.Y. Hilton, they would give the Colts a dominant duo on the outside in 2020 and beyond.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers biggest question heading into this offseason is what to do with Jameis Winston, the former No. 1 overall pick who is headed into free agency. Of course, they could franchise tag him, giving him another year in Bruce Arians system, but there could be a new plan ahead in terms of the most important position in sports.
Former Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers has moved his family from California to Florida, fueling speculation that he could join Arians in Tampa Bay next season. The Bucs have solid playmakers for Rivers, and a decent offensive line, so this is something that could pick up steam as the offseason begins in a few weeks.
Looking at the other side of the ball, the Bucs have to improve their pass rushing game, and they do so here at No. 14 with A.J. Epenesa from Iowa. This guy would be the No.1 edge rushing prospect in this class had it not been for Chase Young, and in a pass-happy NFC South, he gives this Bucs defense a brand new look.
