Duds
James Harden (vs DEN – $11,200 on DK; $11,400 on FD): Things aren’t happening for Harden right now as he keeps missing. He’s the best offensive player in the league and can easily turn things around. But he remains at the top of the salary list and it’s a big pill to swallow for him to not at least get you value. It’s a tough matchup and with so many options, it’s better to look elsewhere.
Nikola Jokic (at HOU – $9,200 on DK; $10,400 on FD): Jokic remains inconsistent and this is a tough matchup against the Rockets. His track record is not very good against them from a fantasy perspective and much like Harden, you can’t afford to miss on a price this high. There’s better and more guaranteed value below him, but the ceiling is high due to his overall game.
Ja Morant (at BOS – $7,600 on DK; $8,100 on FD): Morant is fairly consistent but the Celtics looked back to form against the Lakers while the Grizzlies were due for a regression following their hot streak. He’s unlikely to hurt you in this matchup because of everything he brings to the table. But can he provide you with the extra value boost that he needs to give you in this matchup? I have my doubts.
Julius Randle (vs LAL – $7,600 on DK; $7,800 on FD): Randle can be hit-or-miss against the Lakers and this is a bad time to be playing the Lakers given how their last game went. It’s also a bad time to be the Knicks because they are still the Knicks. I’m not even confident he gets you value, much gets more you more than value in this matchup.
Kelly Oubre (vs IND – $7,000 on DK; $7,100 on FD): Oubre hasn’t been good in the last two games and that’s concerning. It’s a tough matchup against the Pacers and Oubre’s salary is too high for what he’s given you recently. He’s still a high ceiling player, but there’s no guarantees with him right now and that is troubling. Find more guaranteed value with a better matchup elsewhere.
