NBA Trade Deadline 2020: 10 players who could use a change of scenery
8. Malik Beasley
Remember Malik Beasley? The guy who dropped 35 points on the Houston Rockets last year in the middle of his breakout third season in the league?
At the time, Beasley was an up-and-coming, under-the-radar contributor to one of the surprise contenders in the Western Conference. This season, his numbers have dipped from 11.3 points in 23.2 minutes per game last year to 7.3 points in 16.8 minutes a night. He’s still shooting 38.8 percent from 3, but his field goal percentage has dropped by nearly eight points.
Even with injuries to Jamal Murray and Gary Harris, the Denver Nuggets already have those two, Will Barton, Monte Morris, Torrey Craig and Michael Porter Jr. capable of playing in the backcourt or on the wing. Beasley had better use his current opportunity for more minutes to clear a pathway to another team where he might get the chance to fully blossom.
