player. 815. Scouting Report. QB. 2. Pick Analysis. Oklahoma Sooners. Jalen Hurts

Former Oklahoma Sooners and Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Hurts is the biggest wild card at the Senior Bowl. Hurts won a ton of games at Tuscaloosa and Norman. However, it remains to be seen what he can be as a quarterback at the next level.

The way Hurts progressed as a passer during his one year in Lincoln Riley’s offense at Oklahoma certainly opened eyes. He might have put enough tape out there for some NFL team to give him a chance as a quarterback. He may not have to change positions after all.

Regardless, Hurts is a tremendous player. He is a man of great character, as he has universal praise at both schools. Though he is smaller in stature, his mobility and willingness to win have to make him at least worthy of being a day-three draft pick as a quarterback. He will make somebody’s quarterback room better, simply by his arrival.

One could argue this is one of the biggest games of Hurts’ life. If he plays well in the Senior Bowl, then all that does is give him a better shot at being an NFL quarterback. Should he falter in this glorified exhibition, then maybe all Hurts is a legendary college quarterback, but one who just doesn’t have the skills that translate to the next level. Let’s hope he crushes it on Saturday.
