NBA DFS: Studs, scrubs, and duds on DraftKings and FanDuel Jan. 23

Duds

Damian Lillard (vs DAL – $9,900 on DK; $9,300 on FD): Here’s a promise. Lillard won’t put up the numbers he did in his last game. Take it to the bank. Lillard will put the Blazers on his back but they should have the new additions in this game and I still don’t exactly trust him against good teams. The ceiling very high and that might be reason enough to take him.

Kevin Love (vs WAS – $8,100 on DK; $7,000 on FD): Love probably won’t hurt you in this matchup and the ceiling is high with his double double potential. But I find there to be more value below him in Sexton and Garland. Love is typically consistent and it’s a great matchup. But there’s more bang for your buck elsewhere.

Kristaps Porzingis (at POR – $8,000 on DK; $8,400 on FD): Porzingis is still getting right coming off the injury. It is a good matchup for him because it’s the Blazers poor defense. But he’s a bit limited and this feels more like the Luka show with role players chipping in.

Carmelo Anthony (vs DAL – $6,000 on DK; $6,200 on FD): Anthony has been mostly consistent since returning. But Porzingis is a tough matchup for him on the defensive end and with the Blazers adding new players, it’s questionable how the team, which isn’t good, ends up mixing.
