11. Notre Dame vs. Wisconsin

Date: Saturday, Oct. 3 – Week 5 (at Lambeau Field – Green Bay, WI)

You could put a high school football game on Lambeau Field and you would pique some interest. This is one of the most historic and wonderful football venues in the world, so to see a college football game being played in the heart of Cheesehead country should be a treat in and of itself. And it doesn’t hurt that we get two top-tier programs in the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Wisconsin Badgers squaring off at Lambeau.

Wisconsin enters the 2020 season with one of the biggest question marks in the country, which is how they go about filling the Jonathan Taylor-sized hole in their offense. Despite giving quarterback Jack Coan a little more free reign in the offense in 2019, the Badgers have long been an offense predicated upon their rushing attack. So it’ll be interesting to see how Nakia Watson and Garrett Groshek, among others, step in or if Wisconsin relies more on the passing game.

Outside of that question though, the best part of Notre Dame and Wisconsin facing off is the showdown between Ian Book and the Notre Dame offense and what should be an elite Badgers defense. Book may have lost Chase Claypool and Cole Kmet but playing behind one of the best offensive lines in the nation and with more weapons lying in wait, they should remain explosive with their quarterback returning.

Seeing how a Wisconsin defense, who must control the Irish to give their new-look offense a chance to win, handles Book and the Notre Dame attack should make for phenomenal football being played at a once-in-a-lifetime venue.
