1. Kyle Shanahan’s coaching ability

The 49ers should be concerned about just how long Andy Reid has been given to prepare for this match-up. That doesn’t mean they’re overmatched in the coaching department though. In fact, there’s a strong possibility that Shanahan is the best coach involved in Super Bowl 54.

Shanahan is also an offensive mastermind who is at his best with loads of time to scheme and prepare. The Chiefs might have a slight tactical advantage coming into the game, but when the Super Bowl actually starts they will face a distinct coaching disadvantage.

Reid’s struggles to make in-game decisions are well documented. In sharp contrast, Shanahan has shown a real knack for grinding out wins even when things aren’t going perfectly for his squad. His ability to deal with adversity will give his team a major boost in the biggest game fo the season.

Next. Jimmy Garoppolo is still a question mark for the 49ers. dark

In particular, watch for Shanahan to stick with his offensive principles even if his team gets down early to the explosive Chiefs’ offense. Slow and steady is going to win the race for Shanahan and the 49ers on Super Bowl Sunday. He might not have as many gadget plays as Reid will pull out in this game, but his commitment to what’s got San Francisco to this point will pay off big time handsomely for Shanahan in the form of a Lombardi Trophy.
