Patrick Queen, LSU

Maybe no one elevated their stock in the 2020 National Championship game than LSU linebacker Patrick Queen.

Before the 6-foot-1, 227-pound junior officially declared himself eligible for the draft, most people felt like Queen could be a second or third-round guy depending on how high or low your team was picking, but those hopes of him falling to day two have diminished and perhaps even disappeared completely.

Queen finished this past season at LSU with 85 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, an interception, and a lot of really impressive tape.

All eyes were on Devin White for LSU last year, and he ended up being a top 10 pick for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I don’t know White is at that level as a prospect, but he’s instinctive, he plays fast, and what’s the most important factor for NFL teams?

He can cover.

Queen’s ability to stick with backs and tight ends in man coverage is a coveted trait that should land him somewhere in the top 32 picks, and right now he’s ascending the more people watch of him after the National Championship game.
