What the Cowboys need to accept is Prescott is not the focal point of this offense. It’s Zeke. He’s the engine who runs this offense. This is not to say Prescott is a terrible quarterback. He’s efficient and will make plays when necessary, but to put all the pressure on him is not the way to go about it.

The sooner Dallas embraces this fact, the better off they will be for their immediate future, and the more fantasy managers can enjoy the Elliott experience for years to come.

The Cowboys recently parted ways with head coach Jason Garrett and have replaced him with Mike McCarthy. I’m not so sure about this hiring. I have some mixed feelings about it. McCarthy failed to properly utilize Aaron Jones during his time in Green Bay and now with him gone he has been able to grow.

Jones is nowhere near Elliott’s talent, but I’m a little worried McCarthy will make a similar mistake like the previous coaching staff in Dallas and lean on Prescott more. Hopefully he has changed his way of thinking a little and understands that in order for his offense to be successful is through his running back. We will just have to wait and see how everything unfolds in the months to come as the Mike McCarthy era in Dallas is getting underway.

Elliott should still be a top-five fantasy pick no matter what because of how special he is. The difference is whether he should go first/second or more like fourth/fifth instead depending on the pass-catching stats. Should he receive 90-100 targets, he is automatically up there with Christian McCaffrey for the top pick. If they remain a little lower as they did in 2019, then his value will take a slight hit.

This could be the difference-maker in winning or losing a fantasy league. Every point counts so pay attention to this interesting situation in the Lone Star State.
