Edmonton Oilers

The Oilers have a near-constant need for scoring beyond the dynamic duo of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, and they (like the division rival Flames) are reportedly looking to add a top-six forward as the deadline nears. Zucker would seem to fit nicely in that mix, perhaps even as far down as the third line depending on how coach Dave Tippett shapes the lines.

Edmonton has a pipeline of defenseman they could trade from, and forward Sam Gagner’s expiring deal is also a possible trade asset. Attach a draft pick to something, and that would probably get Minnesota’s attention as they consider moving Zucker (or anyone else).

The Pacific Division standings seem to change on nearly a daily basis, as streaks come and go, with five teams separated by five points and all five currently in a playoff spot right now. The Oilers should have a move (or multiple moves) on their radar in the coming weeks, if only to keep their current place in the standings. Or ideally, an active trade deadline will serve as a differentiator in what promises to be a tight race right to the end.
