Duds

Anthony Davis (at SAC – $9,300 on DK; $10,300 on FD): I’m banking a bit on an emotional comedown for the Lakers. Friday night was a rough night. A long and draining game. And now they have to do it again on a back to back against the Kings. The Kings might not be great, but it’s not so much about them as it is about the human element of basketball.

Ben Simmons (at BOS – $9,000 on DK; $9,300 on FD): Simmons almost always struggles against the Celtics. And until I see some type of consistency against them, I can’t trust him at this salary. Embiid being back also limits his opportunities, although it didn’t hurt him against the Hawks. But the matchup is an issue in this game.

Rudy Gobert (at POR – $8,400 on DK; $8,700 on FD): It’s a back to back for the Blazers, which should help, but it’s also a tough matchup as the Blazers are very good against the position. I don’t think Gobert hurts you in this game because he is rather consistent. But I’m not a fan of his ceiling.

Julius Randle (at IND – $8,300 on DK; $7,800 on FD): Much like Gobert, Randle is rather consistent. But this is a tough matchup for him as the Pacers are tops against the position. He too might not hurt you, but as always, with the big salary guys you simply need more than just value. And I don’t see it with Randle.

Jaylen Brown (vs PHI – $7,000 on DK; $6,400 on FD): While Tatum always plays well against the Sixers, Brown seems to struggle a bit. He’s played fairly consistent this season but wasn’t good in the last matchup against the Sixers and that’s concerning. There’s better and more guaranteed value elsewhere despite his high ceiling.
