6. Green Bay Packers

When Aaron Rodgers’ season ended, he said he thought he was close and liked the group he was playing with. It was a surprising response to an NFC Championship loss for a quarterback that’s getting older. Rodgers was once the best player in the entire league, but now he’s trying to live up to his name.

They have a rookie head coach in Matt LaFleur that’s only going to get better with experience. He made some mistakes that his team was able to overcome some games, but if he is able to learn from those mistakes and grow, the sky is the limit with the Packers.

GM Brian Gutekunst has some money to spend, with $22 million in cap space and some pieces that can be cut to make more room. They don’t have any free agent that’s going to break the bank, so they have room to make a splash or two in free agency. With them getting so close last season, we expect them to make those moves.

If the Packers are able to update their skill positions, that will go a long way in the excitement surrounding them. For now, they have Rodgers, Aaron Jones and Davonte Adams, which is more than enough to be in Super Bowl contention before training camp even starts.
