5. Andre Iguodala to the Clippers

The LA Clippers have serious title aspirations this season, having pulled off the signing of Kawhi Leonard in the offseason and then acquiring Paul George in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder. They have been one of the best teams in the Western Conference this season, maintaining a great record even while Leonard and George seem to alternate missing games.

While it may appear that the Clippers have plenty of defensive wings on the roster with Leonard and George, and they also have one of the best defensive point guards in the league in Patrick Beverley, getting Andre Iguodala would give them a historically great defensive lineup that they could put on the court.

With that fleet of defensive aces to deploy on the perimeter, they could afford to play Montrezl Harrell more minutes at center, because teams aren’t going to be able to get to the rim. The Clippers would get the added benefit in the trade of denying the Los Angeles Lakers the opportunity to add Iguodala, with the two tenants of Staples Center seemingly destined for a matchup in the playoffs.

The Memphis Grizzlies seem to be fine with Iguodala staying home despite being under contract as they continue to stay in contention for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Memphis owes its 2020 first-round pick to the Boston Celtics (this will come up later), and as a young rebuilding team, could greatly benefit from adding another piece to its team as it builds around Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. This is a trade that makes too much sense to not happen.
