4. Kenyan Drake (Arizona Cardinals)

Prior to an even during the 2019 season, the Miami Dolphins were busy dealing away some of the better players who could net them draft choices for the future. Last October, four-year running back Kenyan Drake went from South Florida to the desert for a conditional draft choice. It’s safe to say he eventually made a very positive impact for Kliff Kingsbury’s club. But it also took some time despite an impressive start.

After joining the team in late October, Drake showed what he was capable of in what proved to be a Thursday night home loss to the Super Bowl-bound 49ers. He totaled just 15 carries but ran for 110 yards and one TD in a 28-25 setback. Strangely, it was the first of five straight games in which the versatile performer totaled less than 20 carries. But that changed in a Week 15 win over the visiting Browns in which Drake managed 22 attempts for 137 yards and four trips to the end zone.

One week later in an upset of the playoff-bound Seahawks at Seattle, there were 24 carries for 166 yards and two scores – including an 80-yard touchdown run. All told, Drake totaled 58 carries for an impressive 363 yards and seven touchdowns in the team’s final three outings. Will he be back in the desert? He’s still a young player with not a lot of wear and tear and can also be a big factor in the passing game.
