1. Derrick Henry (Tennessee Titans)

It was a postseason journey that brought back memories of John Riggins in 1982 and Terrell Davis in 1997. Of course, running back Derrick Henry and the Tennessee Titans only got as far as the 2019 AFC Championship Game. The aforementioned pair of Pro Football Hall of Famers enjoyed impressive four-game playoff runs that helped the Washington Redskins (XVII) and Denver Broncos (XXXII), respectively, capture Lombardi Trophies.

The 2015 Heisman Trophy winner put on quite the performance in his final nine appearances this season, including three playoff appearance vs. the Patriots, Ravens and Chiefs. The four-year pro rolled up an impressive 1,342 yards on the ground and a dozen scores over that stretch. In his first nine outings in ’19, Henry ran for only 644 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

The NFL’s top rusher this past season put up career numbers in terms of carries (303), yards (1,540) and scores (16). Henry’s numbers have increased each year in the league in terms of attempts and rushing yards. He’s had quite the nose for the end zone the last two years, running for 28 scores and adding two more TDs receiving in 31 regular-season outings.

What’s extremely interesting about the 6’3”, 247-pound locomotive is that in four seasons, he’s totaled only 922 rushing attempts in 67 total outings – including five postseason games. That would be very appealing to teams looking for a running back that still has a lot of life left in his legs. Then again, the chances that the talented Henry will actually hit the open market are likely slim. But stranger things have happened, especially when the price (see Henry on the “The Rich Eisen Show” during Super Bowl week could be high indeed.
