Duds

James Harden (vs UTA – $11,700 on DK; $ on FD): Utah has looked off for many games now and Harden typically plays very well against them. But he’s inconsistent right now and Westbrook, assuming he plays, has offered far more value than Harden over the past month. The ceiling is always high, but the salary is too much for my liking compared to the field.

Kawhi Leonard (at CLE – $9,600 on DK; $ on FD): The matchup is too good for Kawhi in this one. He won’t be relied upon as much if it were a tough matchup, so he’ll get his usual numbers but won’t have to go above and beyond. Plus, the Clippers are working in new pieces potentially with Morris. That can throw off rhythm a bit. He won’t hurt you but the ceiling is limited due to the matchup being relatively easy.

Larry Nance Jr (vs LAC – $6,900 on DK; $ on FD): With Drummond on the team and Love still remaining, Nance Jr will have to take a step back. He’ll likely move to a bench role and get less playing time and play with not quite as good of player. He can hurt the Clippers with his energy and production off the bench but this salary is too high given the circumstances.

Montrezl Harrell (at CLE – $6,200 on DK; $ on FD): Harrell has been fine in recent games but didn’t play well earlier in the season against the Cavaliers and the new look Cavaliers will be tougher with Drummond and Nance Jr now providing depth off the bench. Plus there’s the new addition of Morris, who will take some opportunities away from Harrell. Wait and see how the new Clippers look before taking them.

Bam Adebayo (at POR – $8,300 on DK; $ on FD): Adebayo is a consistent player but the loss of Butler does put more responsibility on him. The Blazers have gotten much better against frontcourt players than they were earlier in the season and I expect an angry Blazers squad given the last game. Maybe that hurts them, but I suspect they’ll feed off it.
