1. Tennessee Titans

It doesn’t take rocket science to suggest that the team that is the best fit for Derrick Henry is the one that he has spent his entire career with to this point. Derrick Henry’s best fit is staying with the Tennessee Titans, who are uniquely built to capitalize on his special set of skills.

The Titans don’t have a long term answer at quarterback, and they will likely look to retain Ryan Tannehill as a bridge to their next young passer. Tannehill has limitations, but he is at his best with a strong running game, which Henry provides for Tennessee.

Head coach Mike Vrabel is also a true throwback who believes in the ground and pound philosophy on offense, which is an ideal fit for Henry’s abilities. If the Titans can give Henry the football 25 or more times a game, they can control the clock and keep their talented defense fresh.

Henry would also be able to continue working behind an excellent offensive line if he stays in Tennessee, which should open plenty of holes for him. The Titans run an offense that is catered to Henry’s skills, which isn’t a guarantee if he signs elsewhere.

There is a bit of comfort in reliability, and that should definitely weigh in to Henry’s decision making process this spring. Henry will, without a doubt, be Tennessee’s top priority and he should strongly consider inking a long term deal to stay with the Titans.
