4. Indianapolis Colts

The narrative around Jacoby Brissett has shifted quickly, from untradeable as Andrew Luck’s backup to Colts’ general manager Chris Ballard not being totally sold on him as the starting quarterback going forward. A knee injury was the turning point in the season for Brissett, as he only missed one game with a sprained MCL and was clearly not the same quarterback who had 10 touchdown passes in the first four games last season.

Indianapolis has enough cap space to keep Brissett and bring in someone else to compete for the starting job. Or they could try to trade Brissett, then sign or trade for someone else and also draft a quarterback (the latter move may be on the table no matter what). Philip Rivers, Cam Newton, Tom Brady, Jameis Winston or even Andy Dalton are among the options the Colts could consider. But why not Tannehill too?

The Colts would surely like to have a similar offensive formula to what the Titans used to great success last year, with a good offensive line and strong ground game leading the way. A solid set of passing game weapons are already in place–T.Y. Hilton, Parris Campbell, Jack Doyle, Zach Pascal–are also in place with the ability to add a significant piece or two this offseason.

The Colts are among the teams with a lot of directions they can go with their quarterback plan this offseason. Tannehill, however below the radar he might be right now, is a solid option.
