4. Robby Anderson

At first glance, it may seem odd to list a wide receiver as a key free-agent target for the Minnesota Vikings. With Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs on the roster, the Vikings have two solid options for Kirk Cousins to throw passes to.

A look below the surface reveals all isn’t as well for the Vikings. Thielen is turning 30 this season and is coming off an injury-plagued season where he caught only 30 passes for 418 yards.

Diggs was healthier, but he was also unhappy with his role in the offense, and there are rumblings he could be a trade candidate. Those issues leave the Vikings in a position where a receiver is a luxury, but one position where an upgrade makes sense.

The top young receiver on the market is Robby Anderson, who is blossoming as a route runner at the right time. Anderson came into the league as a vertical threat for the New York Jets, but he expanded his route tree at the end of the season, making more contested catches over the middle.

It won’t be cheap to land Anderson, but a smart team will see him as an ascending player whose best production may be yet to come. The Vikings may be the kind of team that can unlock the best of Anderson, turning him into a true top-flight receiver.
