NBA FanDuel: Top targets for February 20th – Don’t Freak out
By Shaun Evans
NBA Fanduel – Power Forwards
Top Tier: Christian Wood versus Milwaukee Bucks ($7,400)
When there are very little producing big man options for the Detroit Pistons, Christian Wood is that guy. He also doesn’t cost top dollar to throw him in your lineup either. He is projected for 37.7 fantasy points but has a ceiling of 50.5. Wood is currently averaging a usage rating of 22% while averaging 1.11 fantasy points per minute. With no Andre Drummond, Detroit is left to look at Wood or Thon Maker. Without his price tag going up, the exceeding of five times his value seems like an easy deal.
We know how powerful and threatening the Milwaukee Bucks are but they lack a little against the power forward position. They are currently allowing them to average a double double per game with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists. I don’t think I can mention this enough but Christian Wood’s price tag is too good to pass up on tonight.
Mid Tier: John Collins versus Miami Heat ($7,800)
With a slightly higher price tag, John Collins is also in store for a great match-up versus the Miami Heat. They are currently allowing opposing forwards to average 24 points, ten rebounds, and four assists per game. Another sweet spot for a big man that doesn’t cost too much compared to other positions on this slate.
John Collins is currently averaging 40 Fanduel points per game with a usage rating of 23% in a fast production offense. He did end the first half of the season on a slightly lower productive rate with performances of 36.6 and 35.3 back to back but before that Collins had four games of 40 points or more put together. Averaging a double double on the season, John Collins should be able to kick off the second half of the season on a higher note.
Low Tier: Brandon Clarke versus Sacramento Kings ($4.900)
I want to attack the Sacramento Kings with value tonight it seems as Brandon Clarke is also in a nice spot. The Kings are giving up close to a double double to the power forward position as they allow them to average 21 points, nine rebounds and three assist per game. They kept Clarke below value in their last minute by allowing him to score 18.7 Fanduel points as he only logged 19 minutes.
On the offensive side of things, Brandon Clarke is putting up 12 points, six rebounds and one assist per game while averaging 24.8 Fanduel points, barely above his five times value. He averages 22 minutes per game with a usage rating of 19% while averaging 1.13 points per minute. While needing to save salary, Clarke is a nice option but it’s tough to pay down in a weaker position on this slate as the top priced forwards are sure to exceed value tonight.
Other Options: Bam Adebayo ($8,500), Robert Covington ($6,000), Harry Giles ($3,800)
