NBA DFS: Studs, scrubs, and duds for February 26
Duds
Kawhi Leonard (at PHO – $9,800 on DK; $9,800 on FD): The Clippers are getting healthy and that means Kawhi will start to fall back a bit to accommodate. He’ll lead by example and step up but this, much like the Grizzlies game, is a time to get guys integrated. The circumstances will limit his ceiling a bit.
John Collins (vs ORL – $8,700 on DK; $8,000 on FD): Collins is hit and miss. The ceiling is high but there’s also a just factor there. It’s a decent enough matchup but I just can’t shake his inconsistency at the moment. There’s more guaranteed value elsewhere.
D’Angelo Russell (at MIA – $8,600 on DK; $10,400 on FD): Russell has been playing fairly well since joining the Timberwolves but this is a tough matchup and the help around him remains limited. He probably won’t hurt you but his ceiling isn’t great compared to the rest of the field with better matchups.
Rudy Gobert (vs BOS – $8,100 on DK; $7,800 on FD): It’s just not there fo Gobert or seemingly anyone on the Jazz at the moment. They’ll turn it around at some point and it might even be this game with the Celtics on a back to back. But it’s tough to trust them right now. The price is too high for inconsistencies.
Jonas Valanciunas (at HOU – $6,900 on DK; $6,800 on FD): The Grizzlies are sliding and it’s tough to trust them right now. The small ball the Rockets being to the table is effective against opposing centers like Valanciunas. I like someone like Morant more because attacking scorers can find more success against these lineups.
