When boxing star Deontay Wilder lost to Tyson Fury, a WWE superstar stepped up and had a little fun on Twitter at his expense.

As we all saw last Saturday night, Deontay Wilder was on the receiving end of a seventh-round beating by Tyson Fury that resulted in the towel getting thrown in to end the fight. But it wasn’t the fight itself that has sparked some Twitter troll action, it was Wilder’s gear that he wore to the ring that has caused some online chaos.

In the world of WWE, insulting and trashing the other guy is the law of the land. It has been for decades. And sometimes, WWE stars will take the focus off their opponents and fire shots at someone online to raise commotion. This was the case on Friday, as WWE stars were landing in Boston after a trip to Saudi Arabia. Friday Night SmackDown’s resident royal pain, Baron “King” Corbin decided to take to social media to poke fun at Wilder for last weekend’s events.

Wilder walked to the ring in some pretty flashy attire, which he later blamed the size of the gear for wearing him out before the fight ever began. In an article from FightSport, Wilder had the following explanation:

"“It’s my own fault. My uniform I wore was very heavy for me. I had no legs from the first round on,” he said, explaining he only tried on the extravagant outfit the night before.“My main focus was to survive with my legs, and not on the principles I know and normally think of. I couldn’t follow up with the game plan because of my legs. I couldn’t do anything.”"

And that’s where King Corbin took his shot. He went to Twitter on Friday and had a little fun with the situation. On Thursday, Corbin faced Roman Reigns in Saudi Arabia at WWE Super ShowDown inside a steel cage. His prematch attire usually consists of a robe and crown won from this past year’s King of the Ring tournament, and he’s carried to the ring on a giant throne by several people. So when he lost to Reigns in the cage, it was the perfect moment to blame HIS loss on his attire as well.

Corbin is one of the most hated superstars in the eyes of the WWE Universe. But even this is deserving of an award. And an honorable mention goes to a reply that said, “This is certainly one of the…WILDER tweets I’ve seen today.”
