2020 NFL mock draft: Cowboys land Henry Ruggs
By Brad Weiss
The Jacksonville Jaguars hold two first-round picks in 2020, this after trading away star cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Los Angeles Rams during the 2019 season. For the Jaguars, there is going to be a lot of change with this roster moving forward, and one of the bigger questions will be who gets the nod as the starting quarterback this season.
Nick Foles was brought in to be the solution under center, but he broke his collarbone early in 2019, and was replaced by sixth-round rookie Gardner Minshew. While Gardner-Mania took Duval by storm, Foles continued to work his way back, and based on his contract, he is not going anywhere any time soon.
Regardless of who is under center for the Jaguars next season, they need help along the offensive line, and they get some with the No. 9 overall selection. Jedrick Wills from Alabama is considered by many to be the best offensive linemen in this draft class, and for the Jaguars, he is an immediate upgrade over anyone they have playing the tackle position right now.
The Cleveland Browns were supposed to be a playoff team this past season, especially after adding Odell Beckham Jr. to an offense that already had a standout quarterback in Baker Mayfield, and a dynamic talent at wideout in Jarvis Landry. Unfortunately for Browns fans, this team was all hype, and they once again found themselves on the outside looking in at the playoffs.
Already this offseason, the Browns have made a change at head coach, as Kevin Stefanski has replaced Freddie Kitchens, who had one year as the head coach in Cleveland. During the 2020 NFL Draft, Stefanski and his staff has to address the lack of talent along the offensive line, especially if they want Mayfield to take a step forward in 2020.
Mekhi Becton is a mountain of a man, and along this Cleveland offensive line, he would slide right in as a starter this season. Cleveland has the talent on the roster to make a run in a tough AFC North next season, but they have to do a better job of protecting Mayfield, and in Becton, they get a new franchise left tackle.
