player. 30. . Offensive Tackle. New York Jets. Andrew Thomas. 11

The New York Jets have a new general manager in Joe Douglas, and if there is one thing he knows, it is that the team needs to be better up front on both sides of the ball. Douglas is going to do everything he can to build this roster from the inside out this offseason, and that starts by spending a first round pick on the offensive tackle position.

Luckily for Douglas, this is a draft class loaded at the offensive tackle spot, and even at No. 11 overall, they can get themselves a franchise guy. Andrew Thomas is rated by many as the best offensive tackle in this draft class, but due to the abundance of talent at the position this year, it is anybody’s guess as to what order they are picked in.

Sam Darnold is a legitimate franchise quarterback, but in Year 3, the organization is going to expect wins. If they want him to become the player they know he can be, they have to invest in protecting him, and in Thomas, they get a guy who can protect his blindside for the foreseeable future.

28. . Wide Receiver. Las Vegas Raiders. CeeDee Lamb. 12. player

While Mike Mayock did not exactly endorse taking a wide receiver early in any draft, it is going to be hard for him to pass up on one at No. 12 overall. Last season, Tyrell Williams was the team’s WR1, and while he did play well when he was healthy, he is more suited as a WR2, with second-year Hunter Renfrow in the slot.

Watching the combine, it was hard not to like everything you saw from Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb. While the jury is out on whether or not it will be Lamb or Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy as the No. 1 wideout taken in 2020, we like the Raiders to go Lamb here, as he fits their offense better than Jeudy does.

All offseason there has been chatter that the Raiders will move on from quarterback Derek Carr, possibly replacing him with Tom Brady, or some other veteran free agent. I believe they roll with Carr for at least the 2020 season, and with Lamb in the fold, to go along with their wideouts, tight end Darren Waller, and running back Josh Jacobs, he has all the tools he needs to go back to his 2016 form.
