DraftKings EuroLeague Guards:

The top of guard is full of bad matchups. Bad enough that I don’t want to use any of them. Vasilije Micic has been on a tear lately, but that was with Larkin out. With Larkin back and facing a Tel Aviv team that has allowed the second fewest fantasy points to guards this year, I’m not spending the money. This looks like a day to go balanced at guard.

Only Barcelona and Baskonia have good matchups among guards today. Barcelona has allowed the least fantasy points to guards this year and Tel Aviv is second. Efes has allowed the sixth fewest. With the Efes situation in flux, I’m ready to chop the guard pool in half. The only one that I would use opposing any of those three teams is Martin Hermannsson. I’m leaving all of the rest of the guards from those three teams on the cutting room floor.

Barcelona has the best matchup. Malcolm Delaney has the most upside, but Cory Higgins has been the most consistent of late. Barcelona is fortunate enough to have some good hybrid forwards that can play as guards in a pinch. They have been running with Delaney and Higgins as basically the only natural guards. Bolmaro and Pau Ribas don’t play enough to move the needle.

The next best is for Baskonia. Pierria Henry still isn’t back up to his full compliment of minutes, but he could be here. He’s a solid dart at this price in this matchup. Semaj Christon is the guy losing minutes, so I still feel he’s too expensive. Matt Janning is just as inconsistent, but he’s also $1,300 cheaper. It hurts less if he screws your lineup.

This is a middle of the road matchup for Munich. Their guard corps have been a work in progress all season. However, with Nedovic out is has opened the point back up for Maodo Lo. He’s my only guard lock of the day right now. Lo has 46.25 DraftKings points in the two games with Nedovic out.

The rest of Munich is guard roulette. I like Thomas Bray, but he never plays more than half the game. Zan Sisko has benefitted the most from the absence of Nedovic. He has 39.75 DraftKings points in 41 minutes with Nedovic out and the price is definitely right. There’s your value!
