Jalen Reagor, WR, TCU

Of all the participants at the Combine, TCU wide receiver Jalen Reagor had one of the most unexpected workouts. In college, Reagor was known for his ability to score from anywhere on the field, thanks to his blazing speed, evidenced by his alleged 4.32-second 40-yard dash.

When he showed up to the combine, it was immediately apparent Bleacher Report’s third-fastest player in college football in 2019 spent considerable time at the gym since the conclusion of his junior year. The official combine scale soon proved Reagor added over 10 pounds of bulk to his compact 5-foot-11 frame.

Reagor looked every bit like an NFL receiver, but could he still run like the home run hitter he was in college? NFL teams quickly got their answer as the wideout’s hopes for breaking the NFL combine record for the fastest time in the 40-yard dash were quickly crushed:

Reagor’s recent training regimen also took a toll on his short-area quickness, as the former speedster logged the third-slowest 3-cone-drill time among all participating wide receivers.

It’s understandable his extra weight was at least partially responsible for his poor workout times, but the extra pounds didn’t stop Reagor from posting elite scores in both the vertical jump and the broad jump. Overall, the former TCU wide receiver’s confusing combine left prospective NFL teams with more questions than answers.
