15. BYU Cougars (24-7)

A couple of West Coast Conference teams got the week off because of byes in the league tournament and BYU was one of them. The Cougars got to sit back and watch the rest of the conference beat up on each other. They’ll likely stay put.

14. Louisville Cardinals (24-7)

Louisville had just one game in the final week of the regular season and lost a tough one against a surging Virginia team. Don’t expect a major drop from the Cardinals but they’ll likely fall to around the 14-15 range in the AP Top 25.

13. Michigan State Spartans (22-9)

Michigan State is firing on all cylinders with five wins over ranked teams in the past seven games. Tom Izzo has his team peaking right now and it’s impressive to see just how well the Spartans can play when they reach their potential. Watch out, college basketball, the Spartans have won three straight Big Ten titles.

12. Oregon Ducks (24-7)

To say the Pac-12 has been down this year would be an understatement, but that shouldn’t diminish Oregon’s conference title. They held off a surging UCLA squad with wins over Cal and Stanford in Week 18. No one will want to see Payton Pritchard and the Ducks in March.

11. Maryland Terrapins (24-7)

Maryland is a tough team to judge lately. The Terrapins looked unbeatable through the first couple months of Big Ten play and were a potential No. 1 seed, but have since come back down to earth, squandering a two-game lead in the standings with a week left to play. Still, the Terrapins earned a share of the Big Ten title with a win over No. 25 Michigan on Sunday after a disappointing loss to Rutgers earlier in the week.
