5. San Diego State Aztecs (30-2)

San Diego State is that team that everyone has waited for to come back down to earth, but it just hadn’t happened yet. Well, that was until the Mountain West Tournament as the Aztecs lost in the championship to Utah State, giving an automatic bid to the Aggies. Still, finishing the regular season 30-2 is no easy feat.

4. Florida State Seminoles (26-5)

When a team goes 2-0 in a week of ACC play, you’d be led to believe that they probably beat a ranked opponent — that’s just how good the ACC has been over the years. However, that wasn’t the case with Florida State as it downed Notre Dame and Boston College, but will still get a decent bump in the rankings thanks to losses by Baylor, San Diego State and Kentucky.

3. Dayton Flyers (29-2)

There’s plenty of debate right now about just how good this Dayton team is. Are the Flyers a good enough team to compete in a major conference or are they just a really good mid-major team? Why not both? After wiping the floor with Rhode Island and George Washington to end the regular season, there’s talk about the Flyers as a potential No. 1 seed.

2. Gonzaga Bulldogs (29-2)

With the West Coast Conference Tournament getting underway, the Gonzaga Bulldogs took advantage of being the first-place team with byes and got to sit back and watch the rest of the league duke it out. Mark Few and Co. will play their first game on Monday. Will the Bulldogs be rusty with an entire week off?

1. Kansas Jayhawks (28-3)

Kansas basically locked up the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament barring a massive meltdown of Baylor-like proportions to end the season. Bill Self‘s team is playing its best basketball of the year at the perfect time and the Jayhawks look darn-near unbeatable. They beat TCU by nine and then went on the road for senior day to take out a tough Texas Tech team fighting for a tourney bid.
