DraftKings PGA: 2020 Players Championship – Values
$8,000 Sergio Garcia
Sergio is an all-world ball-striker, a stat that has correlated with success at TPC Sawgrass. Sergio has had his fair share of success at TPC Sawgrass, ranking 1st in the field in DK points gained at TPC Sawgrass. He was playing really solid golf overseas, but his game has been lackluster stateside, finishing T37 in his 2 PGA Tour starts of 2020. Sergio is a Pete Dye specialist, ranking 5th in the field in DK points gained. In his past 5 Players Championship outings, Sergio is 5/5 in made cuts with a T2 in 2015.
$7,800 Matt Kuchar
There is no hiding the fact that Kuchar owns this course. Kuchar has won this event before, and he ranks 3rd in SGT and 10th in DK scoring at TPC Sawgrass. Kuchar’s form is solid, but nothing spectacular. In 2020, he is 5/6 in made cuts with only one top-10 performance. I am hoping his ownership is below 10% this week, beacause I love the safety and upside of a 7K Kuchar.
$7,200 Daniel Berger
Why was Bermuda Berger not at Bayhill? Give me more Berger on Florida golf courses! The kid is playing solid golf to start the 2020 season and he is tends to play his best golf in his back yard (Florida). My model loves him in that he ranks in the top-20 in strokes gained bogey avoidance, approach, and tee to green in the field. His putting splits favor Bermuda, as I already alluded to, so it will be fun to see what he can do with those approach numbers on a course that suits his roll. The price is higher than I expected, but fair and I cannot envision crazy ownership (over 10%) with all of the other options at 7K. Berger has a solid course history with 4 consecutive made cuts at TPC Sawgrass and a T9 in 2016.
