Predictions for all the major college basketball conference tournaments and how it’ll influence Selection Sunday and March Madness.

Championship week is here, and that means it’s time to start handing out invitations to the NCAA Tournament. Throughout the coming week, all of the major conferences in Division I and plenty of the smaller ones will stage their tournaments to dole out the remaining automatic bids to March Madness.

FanSided has taken the time to go through the brackets for the eight biggest tournaments in the country and will offer its predictions about how they will play out.

Updated NCAA conference tournament odds from The Action Network.

AAC

  • Dates: March 12-15
  • Location: Fort Worth, TX
  • Top Seed: Cincinnati

The AAC has certainly been unpredictable this season, with a lot of quality teams but no true standouts like last year’s Houston squad that got all the way to the Sweet 16. The Cougars enter the tournament with the surest resume of any AAC team, but it still feels like they need an opening-round win to secure an at-large bid.

Cincinnati and Wichita State are also flirting with the bubble, with Cincinnati in firmer standing at the moment than the Shockers. Tulsa is not as highly regarded but still dangerous, while Memphis and UConn are wild cards that could get hot and steal the AAC’s bid.

The tournament will be held in Fort Worth, however, and the Cougars’ faithful should travel well to give Houston the extra push they need to claim the crown.

Prediction: Houston
