5. WR Amari Cooper

Consistency has been a thing Cooper, but he ultimately got his numbers last year (79 catches for 1,189 yards, eight touchdowns). More specifically as it relates to the Cowboys, his effect on Dak Prescott was notable from the minute he was acquired from the Raiders in 2018. It’s amazing to realize Cooper will still only turn 26 years old in June.

Dallas could use the franchise tag on Cooper if they don’t wind up using it on Prescott in lieu of an immediate long-term deal. Cooper has been consistent in professing his desire to remain a Cowboy long term, and did so again during a recent appearance on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas.

"“I love being a Dallas Cowboy,” Cooper said Thursday night on 105.3 The Fan. “I think about it almost every day. Just the aura of being a Dallas Cowboy, you can’t beat it. I want to be a Dallas Cowboy for life.”"

The Cowboys seem inclined to keep Cooper and Prescott together, and with over $77.2 million in cap space right now they can ink both to long-term deals in line with market value. But Cooper and his agent would do well to at least see what’s out there, and the idea he’ll sign elsewhere can’t be dismissed.
