19. DT Jordan Phillips

Phillips is coming off a career year in 2019, with 9.5 sacks and 16 quarterback hits as he started nine games and played in each affair. The Bills may place the franchise tag on him, but with Ed Oliver ready for a bigger role and others to re-sign a move to test the market seems more likely.

Among 113 full-time interior defensive lineman, Pro Football Focus ranked Phillips No. 103 last year and that 9.5 sacks came on a total of 20 quarterback pressures. He also only played 52 percent of Buffalo’s defensive snaps, so a bigger role is virtually guaranteed elsewhere.

Concerning below the surface data from last season aside, Phillips’ upside may not be fully tapped yet. He is also simply a massive man that has to be accounted for on the interior (6-foot-6, 341 pounds).

Being waived the middle of a season by the 2018 Miami Dolphins was an obvious low-point in his career. But Phillips will get a nice multi-year deal somewhere in free agency this month, as teams are willing to bet on his potential with the promise of a bigger role than he had in Buffalo.
