Detroit Lions: CB Logan Ryan (Tennessee Titans)

The second year of the Matt Patricia Era in the Motor City would get off to a promising start. But when it was all said and done, the Detroit Lions would win just one more game after a 2-0-1 start. Arguably, the most disappointing aspect of the team’s performance in 2019 was the play of their defense. This unit had made great strides in Patricia’s first season. But this past year, no team allowed more yards through the air than Detroit. The Lions surrendered 33 touchdown passes and the club’s secondary has been the subject of much discussion this offseason.

Late last October, Detroit sent quality safety Quandre Diggs to the Seattle Seahawks. Now there’s been talk that standout cornerback Darius Slay, named to the last three Pro Bowls, could also be had for the right price. In seven seasons with the Lions, he’s totaled 19 interceptions and an impressive 104 passes defensed in 103 regular-season outings.

If dealt, Patricia’s squad will have a huge hole in its secondary. But he and general manager Bob Quinn were both in Foxborough when the team added cornerback Logan Ryan. Now a member of the Titans, he would be a huge addition to the Lions’ defense backfield. He led Tennessee in tackles during both the regular season and playoffs this past year.
