Green Bay Packers: RT Jack Conklin (Tennessee Titans)

It’s a team that played in a total of 18 games and lost only four the entire 2019 season. That includes a pair of playoff tilts. But two of those setbacks by Matt LaFleur’s Green Bay Packers were to the NFC champion San Francisco 49ers and both of those losses were by 17 points each. In each of those games, the Pack’s offensive line was overmatched by the likes of Nick Bosa, Arik Amstead, DeForest Buckner and San Francisco’s talented defensive line.

While there is been a lot of talk as a late as to the Packers targeting tight end Austin Hooper (Atlanta Falcons), you could make a case that LaFleur’s team has more pressing issues than finding an upgrade to  Jimmy Graham – who may be released by the team. If Green Bay is to match up against some of the better defensive fronts in the league, the club must upgrade its offensive line.

The franchise is expected to let 10-year veteran Bryan Bulaga test free agency. So general manager Brian Gutekunst could be looking for a suitable replacement at right tackle. It’s still bewildering that the Tennessee Titans did not pick up the fifth-year option on tackle Jack Conklin. But that could add up to good things for the Packers, who could add a proven commodity that’s been a 16-game starter in three of his four seasons.
