Seattle Seahawks: DE Jason Pierre-Paul (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

It’s safe to say that the Seattle Seahawks defense that was one of the dominant units of the previous decade is but a distant memory. Not only in terms a personal but the club’s reliance on that side of the football. As of late, Pete Carroll’s club is carried by the skills of quarterback Russell Wilson and the team’s offense. The ‘Hawks finished 2019 with an 11-5 record but we’re just plus-7 in point differential, scoring 405 points but allowing a whopping 398.

Thanks to the heroics of Wilson – who threw for 31 scores and only five interceptions – the team was able to survive its share of shootouts during the regular season. And after a while card win at Philadelphia, Carroll’s squad came up just short at Lambeau Field in the divisional round, 28-23.

Only the Pittsburgh Steelers (38) and New England Patriots (36) finished with more takeaways than the Seahawks (32) this past season. But it’s also a team that finished 26th in total defense while allowing the sixth-most passing yards in the league. And a less-than-scintillating pass rush produced only 28 sacks. Which makes veteran defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul (8.5 sacks in 2019 with the Buccaneers) a very savvy addition.
