10. Tyrrell Hatton (+4800)

This feels a bit like cheating as Tyrrell Hatton is coming off of a win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill but, nonetheless, he’s outside of the top 20, even if his odds jumped from +8000 to +4800 after that victory.

Regardless, Hatton has been playing incredibly well, even if he’s been on the course sparingly, this season. In the four tournaments in which he’s played on the PGA Tour this season, Hatton has not finished worse than fourth, including the win at Bay Hill and a pair of sixth-place finishes.

Though it’s been in limited appearances, Hatton has simply been on fire this season. He leads the PGA Tour in Strokes Gained: Tee to Green, which shows he’s in form as a ball-striker, a critical part to succeed in this tournament. If he can keep his composure, he should be in contention to win for the second straight week.

9. Christiaan Bezuidenhout (+10000)

Considering that Christiaan Bezuidenhout has only played in three PGA Tour events in the entirety of his career, he probably should not be among the favorites when it comes to The PLAYERS Championship, even among the sleepers. After all, course familiarity is a big advantage when playing at TPC Sawgrass, so Bezuidenhout’s lack of familiarity with the PGA Tour, in general, might work against him.

Working for him, however, is that he’s been playing at a high level this season and has risen into the top 50 of the Official World Golf Rankings (No. 48). Bezuidenhout between the PGA Tour and European Tour has a second-place finish, two additional finishes inside the top 20 and a pair of 21st-place finishes to his credit. With that kind of form and performance, especially after finishing No. 18 at Bay Hill, maybe The PLAYERS is where Bezuidenhout really stakes his claim.
