10th Overall: Cleveland Browns – Jedrick Wills Jr. (OT – Alabama)

Team Needs
Offensive Tackle, Tight End, Safety, Defensive End, Defensive Tackle, Cornerback, Wide Receiver

Picks: 10 (1st), 41 (2nd), 74 (3rd), 90 (3rd), 115 (4th), 187 (6th), 237 (7th), 245 (7th)

The Cleveland Browns need to address their offensive line, and 2019’s biggest riser at offensive tackle will be a great fit either on the outside or the inside. Wills is stout in both the running and passing games, and should develop into a star tackle. Mekhi Becton will be considered here, but a premium will be placed on Jedrick Wills’ versatility. Wills is a mean offensive lineman that the Browns may view as a more ideal fit as an All-Pro level guard as opposed to a potential Pro Bowl level offensive tackle. With a lack of quality guard options in free agency, do not be surprised to see the Browns add an offensive tackle or two in free agency, and draft Wills to at least begin his career as a starter at one of the guard positions.

Team Impact

While the Cleveland Browns have no free agent offensive linemen, none of their current starters have more upside than Jedrick Wills. Wills will provide a major boost to an offensive line that ranked 10th in Football Outsiders 2019 offensive line rankings. Giving Baker Mayfield more protection will be a theme of the offseason for the Browns, and adding a talent like Wills will go a long way towards accomplishing that goal. Wills is strong in pass protection, but is excellent as a run blocker, and will provide a massive boost to whichever side of the line he ends up lining up at.

Fantasy Impact

As mentioned above, Wills will provide obvious boosts to both the passing game and the running game for the Cleveland Browns. Nick Chubb’s value will not rise due to his addition, but it will help increase his weekly floor. Wills addition will hopefully help raise Baker Mayfield’s floor, and help bring him back into the top 15 discussion. Adding an offensive lineman like Jedrick Wills is a solid boost to the dynasty values of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt (if Hunt is retained as expected).
