1. Las Vegas Raiders

If there is one team in the National Football League that is screaming for help at linebacker, that would be the Silver and Black. A year ago, the Raiders’ frustrations on defense continued despite a pass rush that was slightly better.

But Paul Guenther’s unit still finished 19th in the league in total yards allowed per game. The club allowed 419 points and 48 offensive touchdowns and would wind up losing five of its last six games after a 6-4 start. During a late season stretch in which Jon Gruden’s club dropped four straight, the Raiders allowed a whopping 136 points.

As for the linebacking position, the team was hoping to get more from veteran Vontaze Burfict. But he lasted only four games and was suspended for the remainder of the season after a hit to the helmet to Indianapolis Colts’ tight end Jack Doyle. He won’t be re-signed by the club. Recently, the organization parted ways with Tahir Whitehead. He was the team’s leading tackler each of the past two seasons and rolled up 108 total stops in 2019.

Cory Littleton would obviously be a start in the right direction for this defense as the team prepares for its first season in Las Vegas. The Raiders’ offense was more than adequate last season but Guenther’s unit failed to close the deal too many times. And the versatile defender could help the club improve on just 15 takeaways a year ago.
