2020 NFL Draft: Philadelphia Eagles 7-round mock
By Conor Dorney
For what it’s worth, the above photo is the only one in our system of Quartney Davis and not my scouting report. At least he’s fumbling against someone I project to be his future teammate?
Texas A&M’s Quartney Davis is a viable option for the Eagles in round four as they opt to double-dip at wide receiver in a loaded class. Davis possesses excellent length and speed for the position, offering a different profile than potential second-rounder KJ Hamler.
New wide receivers coach Aaron Moorhead was part of the Aggies program that helped lure Davis to College Station, which could help the team’s intel pipeline as they consider nabbing him with one of their three fourth-round selections.
Death, taxes, and Stanford tight ends in the NFL? It just may be true with another Cardinal standout, Colby Parkinson.
Parkinson is huge (6-foot-7, 251 pounds) and offers surprising athleticism for his size at the tight end position. The Eagles already have a wealth of talent at the position but depth could help take some of the pressure and wear of Zach Ertz, particularly in two tight end set. He’d be a nice pickup for Pederson and company here in round four.
More secondary help!
The Eagles have done plenty on the quick-twitch slot cornerbacks in this class and could turn to a program they’re familiar with in Washington’s Myles Bryant.
Bryant posted a career-high three interceptions for the Huskies at safety in 2019, but his best position is as a slot cornerback at the NFL level. He is small but displays a ton of toughness and tenacity, always playing as a nuisance to receivers that usually have him by half a foot in the height department.
The Eagles could lean on the relationship Bryant had with former second-rounder Sidney Jones to feel comfortable taking him at this spot in the fourth.
