New York Giants

1. Jadeveon Clowney
2. Jack Conklin
3. Joe Schobert

The Giants, predictably under the leadership of general manager David Gettleman, have invested a lot of resources in the trenches.

Despite Gettleman’s focus on those areas, they still struggle to rush the passer and endured significant problems trying to protect the quarterback.

His job likely on the line, Gettleman will need to nail free agency and the draft and that will require some big swings on the open market. Clowney is a name continually linked with the Giants and he would be a substantial upgrade on what the Giants have under contract at outside pass rusher.

The attention Clowney draws would make life easier for their interior rushers and fellow edges Oshane Ximines and Lorenzo Carter, who each enjoyed encouraging 2019 seasons.

Gettleman may be wary of giving another payday to a free agent offensive tackle, with Nate Solder having failed to live up to expectations. However, the Giants can out of Solder’s contract this year and if they do that while signing Conklin and drafting one of the top rookies at the position, the O-Line will be in much better shape.

Off-ball linebacker is a talent-poor area for the Giants, who would benefit greatly from the playmaking ability Schobert displayed in his time with the Browns.
