After 20 seasons, nine Super Bowl appearances, six NFL championships and a slew of numbers, Tom Brady’s days with the New England Patriots are ending.

Tis the season of rumor, speculation and overanalyzing what players are headed where in NFL free agency. On Monday, the league’s “legal tampering” period began and it was a day full of signings, trades, cuts, retirements and tagging. Plenty of big names will officially change teams at 4:00 pm ET on Wednesday.

Of course, there’s also the biggest name when it comes to this year’s market. And early Tuesday morning, legendary quarterback Tom Brady made some of his intentions known via his Instagram account:

Wow. So what team will have Tom Brady on its roster as the veteran could begin his third decade in professional football.  One of the more speculated places was Tennessee but that all changed once the Titans gave Ryan Tannehill big money. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are at a crossroads when it comes to Jameis Winston and the Los Angeles Chargers are moving on from veteran Philip Rivers. Via Pro Football Talk’s Michael David Smith, both franchises are actively pursuing the accomplished signal-caller. Of course, Rivers has been tied to the Indianapolis Colts via reports. But what if that club decides on a different option…like a savvy 20-year pro?

Then again, who says Brady is headed to another team? Again, via his Instagram account, his time in New England has come to an end. But does that also mean that his amazing career is also over? He’s stated in the past that he would like to play until he’s 45 years old. But his performance in 2019 can be attributed to a number of things, including his own lack of quality play. It’s a team game and Brady is the ultimate teammate. All told, the Patriots’ offense slumped badly from the previous year and all parties are accountable.

So the days of Tom Brady guiding Bill Belichick’s team in a New England Patriots’ uniform are over after two decades. But is it a certainty that the successful superstar will be wearing another team’s colors this fall?
