The Carolina Hurricanes took some time out of their busy schedules to dole out some much-needed kind words to all 30 NHL teams on Twitter.

We’ve hit nearly a week without professional sports in any form — including hockey — due to the coronavirus pandemic. This time away has impacted many people, but for the Carolina Hurricanes, now was as good a time as any to send some positivity out into the world.

On Wednesday, the Hurricanes tweeted a thread to all 30 other NHL teams, picking one point of positivity to highlight about each club, from the silly to the downright heartwarming.

Of course, one of the first shoutouts the Hurricanes made was to the Toronto Maple Leafs, who famously supplied Carolina with Dave Ayres, the emergency backup goaltender who won over hearts just a few weeks ago.

The Hurricanes spread some love to their Metropolitan Division rivals, the New Jersey Devils, Washington Capitals, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Columbus Blue Jackets.

The team gave a nod to the St. Louis Blues and their Gloria moments from their Stanley Cup Final run from last year.

Carolina also gave us some ideas for our social distance binge watching.

And even shouted out the unnamed Seattle franchise that will play their first hockey games during the 2021-22 season.

Finally, the Hurricanes sent the NHL themselves a special message that we can all get behind in this void without sports.

The thread on Twitter isn’t much in the grand scheme of things, but overall is a nice bit of joy and happiness in these days even without the sport we all love.
