Jadeveon Clowney is the first major domino to fall in the Seahawks’ offseason plan and if he elects to chase greener (get it, meaning money?) pastures, it could leave the team looking for pass rush help in the draft.

UNC-Charlotte’s Alex Highsmith is one of my favorite under-the-radar edge prospects in the class and could flourish in the right role in Seattle’s defense. He has an excellent first step, explosiveness, and a creative arsenal as a pass rusher and continues to develop as a run defender.

Highsmith’s production last season was eye-popping, posting 21.5 tackles for loss and 15.0 sacks. And despite playing at a smaller school, he impressed on tape for even one of the top coaches in college football.

The Seahawks are also familiar with the ex-49ers standout as new fulltime defensive assistant Aaron Curry recently served as a position coach for Charlotte.
