Denver Broncos: A-

The Broncos have been relatively quiet this week, but trading for Bouye got the team’s action off to a great start. That gets them a well above-average grade on its own.

Acquiring Jurrell Casey for a seventh-round pick was another good move. As was franchising Justin Simmons. Only the Graham Glasgow deal seems questionable. It’s not enough of an overpay to drag Denver’s grade down too much.

Kansas City Chiefs: C

The Chiefs have one of the most talented rosters in the NFL. As such, it’s fair to say they didn’t need to do a ton in free agency. They also didn’t have the salary cap room to be big players.

Franchising Chris Jones was the obvious move, but Kansas City still deserves some credit for making it. Nothing else they did really moved the needle either way. Their mark slides back down to a C based on inactivity.

Las Vegas Raiders: C-

Give Jon Gruden and his front office credit for the work they did at linebacker. Corey Littleton and Nick Kwiatkoski will be impact starters right away.

They still can’t cancel out a host of moves that are questionable, at best. Jason Witten should have stayed retired. Neither Eli Apple or Jeff Heath is going to solve the team’s secondary issues. Handing Carl Nassib a big deal will turn out to be one of the ugliest deals of this year’s free agency period.

Los Angeles Chargers: C-

The Chargers get a below-average grade because they failed to acquire a starting quarterback. Letting Philp Rivers leave in free agency is fine. Trusting Tyrod Taylor to be your starter is unacceptable.

Otherwise, the Chargers had a nice week. Linval Joseph and Chris Harris should take this defense from good to great. Bryan Bulaga and Trai Turner will do a lot to stabilize the offensive line. Even franchising Hunter Henry seems like a good call due to the dearth of available tight ends in free agency. If they add a quality signal caller this grade skyrockets. Until then, it’s a C- at best.
