4. Buffalo Bills

The Bills rightly shifted toward Devin Singletary as their lead back last season after he dealt with an injury, and the rookie out of Florida Atlantic rewarded that faith. Over the last six games of the season he averaged 4.5 yards per carry with at least in each of the first five game of that span. Stretching back to the final eight games, he averaged 4.6 yards per carry over that span.

Frank Gore will likely be gone, if he continues to play, which leaves T.J. Yeldon, Taiwan Jones and Christian Wade on the depth chart behind Singletary. So adding a running back, via what’s left of free agency or in the middle part of the draft, has to be on the radar.

Buffalo has added pieces to what was already a solid defense, and they’ve made a big trade for wide receiver Stefon Diggs. With Tom Brady leaving the Patriots, the long-running kings of the AFC East look vulnerable pending who they get as their new quarterback. So the Bills can be advanced as the favorites to win the division right now, and they should seize opportunities to strike in terms of further acquisitions this offseason.

Buffalo has over $32 million in cap space to work with right now, so on that surface level they can take on Gurley fairly easily. A run-oriented offense needs a supplement behind Singletary, and Gurley looks like a fit as a guy with a nose for the end zone.
