Fourth Round

Pick Analysis. TE. 108. Scouting Report. Missouri Tigers. Albert Okwuegbunam. player. 822

The best way to help a young quarterback out is for him to have a big target to throw the football to at tight end. Though this isn’t a great tight end draft by any stretch of the imagination, a player like Albert Okwuegbunam of the Missouri Tigers could be a good fit here for the Redskins at No. 108 in the fourth round.

Okwuegbunam is 6-foot-5 and 255 pounds with 23 career touchdown catches in 27 games over his three years at Missouri. He was a favorite red-zone target of former Tigers quarterback Drew Lock, who found him in the back of the end zone a combined 17 times in 2017 and 2018. Even with Kelly Bryant through him the ball last year, Okwuegbunam still had six touchdown catches.

Rivera will want to add as many quality pieces to his new Washington defense as he can in the draft. Smith may want to add pieces to round out the offense, but Washington could get a productive player at No. 142 overall in California Golden Bears linebacker Evan Weaver.

In four years at Berkley, Weaver had 407 tackles, 23.5 for a loss of yardage and 8.5 sacks. He seems to be decent at dropping back into coverage with two career interceptions and 11 pass breakups during his time at Cal. At 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds, Weaver has the size to be a versatile playmaker in Rivera’s new defensive scheme in Washington.
