NBA Mock Draft 2.0: Tankathon sim gives Knicks No. 1 overall pick

Isaac Okoro hasn’t shown a consistent jumper yet, but someone is going to gamble on him in this range anyway, if not earlier. At 6-foot-6 with a 6-foot-9 wingspan, Okoro possesses the best combination of athleticism and defensive instincts in the draft. He’s also a high-IQ player offensively, making the fit easy regardless of personnel. He has a high floor even if he does not develop a reliable outside jumper due to his combination of physical traits and feel for the game on each end.
What Okoro provides on the defensive end may be enough to justify this selection with even limited offensive production, so if somehow a team sees enough between now and draft day to think he’ll develop offensively, Okoro could one of the first names called. So far, he’s only shooting 29 percent from 3, but over 60 percent on 2s at only 6-foot-6.
